Early ’26 saw a long winter that dragged into spring. I was anxious for nicer weather (ie; bored of being cooped up in the house). For my sanity, I needed a project. My dreaming phase rekindled a long standing fascination with the Greenman… mythical guardian of nature. He represents spring rebirth and has inspired my art more than once.
I found an online image that I liked and drew it on the monk’s cloth sized to 10″x 18″. Then a quick trip to the yarn store for some Earthy colors and I was ready to hook.
It was a gratifying few days in early April. The roar of March’s departing lion continued for most of it, so indoors was the place to be. Thankful to have a project, I dreamed of the cycle of nature ahead and where I might display my new piece. Somewhere near the garden perhaps.
Thanks for reading The Greenman.
