After a trouble free flight, Ryan and I arrived in Paris to meet up with Monica who was ending her 12-day trip to the south of France with her 5 high school girlfriends. We easily made our way via subway to the 13th Arrondissement on the left bank of the Seine and found our hotel at Place d’Italie.
It was noon when we arrived so we spent the afternoon exploring the nearby neighborhood of Buttes Aux Caille. It is very charming with plenty or street art, street music, churches and good food.
The next day was a 20 km marathon for the sights and sounds of the 5th and 6th Arrondissements. Wonderful and exhausting. Monica’s knees gave out toward the end but we made it back to our hotel and enjoyed an authentic Chinese meal before bedtime.

- Jardins de Luxemburg
- Quick run around the Eiffel Tower
- The Latin Quarter
- The Isle de Saint Louis
- The ancient Roman amphitheatre
